Scot J. Mann is an award winning and internationally recognized Fight Master and Teacher through the Society of American Fight Directors, the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat, and Professor of Theatre at Mercer University.

 

He has choreographed, performed, and coached theatrical violence in the US, England, Germany, and India with such companies as The Steppenwolf Theatre, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Alliance Theatre, and the Georgia Shakespeare Festival, where he served as an Associate Artist.

 

Scot served as Fight Director for the world premiere of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, written by Stephen King and John Mellencamp with T Bone Burnett as music director.  At the Alliance Theatre, he was the original Fight Director for the world premiere of Tuck Everlasting, directed by Casey Nickolaw. 

 

He has also served as tactics choreographer and gun wrangler for film and television, and on-set Swordmaster for the Bollywood Epic, DRONA, filmed in Jaipur, India.  Most recently, Scot co-choreographed the re-opening of the multi-million-dollar attraction, Pirates Voyage, in Myrtle Beach with his wife, Kelly.

 

As a director, he received a Meritorious Achievement Award for his direction of Scapin, by the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival in 2005.
